Here are my suggestions for limits, in no partiuclar order and not necessarily all or nothing. Seems to me the FilterGals can pick and choose one or more arbitrarily. I'll revise the list as I think of more.

HOW Limitations

  • Daniel loves to use natural light. Use only ONE artificial light source for all footage. Could be pro lighting, could be a flashlight, could be a camping light, maybe only things lit by neon, etc.
  • What if the audio track was a set of sound bites from nightly news shows; Daniel to supply the images and optional music?
WHO Questions

  • Who are the heroes of today?
  • Kind of like the Child's POV idea, but perhaps contrast/juxtapose the child's POV of something with an adult's. OR maybe explore aspects of an child's world that seem to get translated into an adult's world with very little mutation, i.e. bigger and more expensive toys but toys none the less. Could be hard without partiucalry staging something.
WHAT Questions

  • What is it the media does to our mind?
  • Explore the continuum of the role of Father; Cut across race, religion, socio-economic, educational, and geo-location boundaries. Or perhaps pick only one of these and explore the differences/similarities.
  • What is reality TV?
WHEN Limitations

  • Film the same spot at the same time for a week straight. Something like a phone booth, or maybe a ticket counter, or a subway station, etc.

WHERE Limitations

  • INTERIOR - DAY CARE CENTER - MORNING: Set up a mac or projector and show Daniel's vlogs to a group of 3-6 olds. After a film or two, ask the kids what they thought the videos meant or were trying to say. Alternatively you could show them anything from a cereal commercial to a news story to a print ad, any kind of media would work.
  • INTERIOR - OLD FOLKS HOME - MORNING: Same as above, but ask the other end of the age spectrum.
  • INTERIOR - DAY - HAIR SALON/BARBERSHOP: Film people getting their hair done in the following parts of town: Upper east side, Lower East Side or SOHO, Harlem, Hamilton Heights. Have Daniel or someone on camera ask them the same set of "deep questions" about life (The FilterGals can make these up) such as what matters most to you? Who is your hero? What is the one thing you would change in your life, the world? Do you believe in God? Why or why not? etc. The point is that everyone gets the same set of Q's
  • INTERIOR - DAY - HAIR SALON/BARBERSHOP: Same locations but more lighthearted and use only music and sound effects. Since each part of town represents a slice of various social structures, compare/constrast/mock/dramtize etc, the simple yet clearly socially significant act of "getting beautiful".
WHY

  • Uh, seems to me the primary why is fundamentally immutable: because of this seven maps challenge, no?
