Also to consider, Dan shouldn’t be doing all the work here. This needs to be set up in such a way that the filters are doing the background legwork, and Dan is just making the art – IE – Dan should receive an envelope that says go to the airport at said time and get on the plane. When you get to your destination, pick up your next envelope at the courtesy desk. – Each video might build on the last or perhaps is determined by the “envelope” present at each new destination. I think we must consider the journey more than the destination.
Has the entire Seven Maps challenge been set in stone now? Has a plan for every day during this already been planned out? From what I've been reading and hearing, this is how it sounds. Forgive me if I am wrong however I thought this would be an evolving thing fueled by our comments during the challenge and not based on our comments before this began. - David Howell
Nothing is set in stone, as far as I can tell. There is indeed a plan with parameters (restrictions/challenges/etc.) in place for each day based around the community input up until this point. Ongoing communication throughout Daniel's jouney is encouraged, welcomed and (I think) essential! Having basic plans in place for his jouney ahead of time was the best possible way to utilize as much community input as possible. Think about it: if he was simply shipped off to a location and waited for people to post to the wiki or to the sevenmaps site (and waited for the filters to filter) he may not have had as broad a spectrum of ideas to work from, and there would be a risk of having days (or perhaps the whole project) where only one or two people were playing the game. Case in point: it's Sunday 8/6 at 5:50pm and you and I are the only people in here right now.

More Daniel...I want more. *meh* I am sure you already know that though. - David Howell
Yes, yes....steer this thing toward St. Clair Shores. It's time to see the wizard. Add no cutting to black to the technical restrictions (it's a comfort thing for Liss), and add the comedy thing as well, he needs to try and make the video funny. Filters are you listening. Have him make a pilgramage to the lab. Make him go WEST, thru Canada, enter thru Port Huron, head south to St. Clair Shores. HE's already missed enough, because this man is already so busy. GEt him there by the end of the 7...FILTERS, get him there. I haven't chimed in that much, but finding Liss in Niagra Falls, as the first installment of this trip, it's already fated. A similar pilgrimage has already happened, and this is in reverse. It's a quick jump through Canada to Detroit, with endless possibilities once he's there. Have him spend a night in a shrine ranch house in St. Clair Shores, save him some money, for lodging, and then have him walk around downtown Detroit on some afternoon...show us the arm-pit of America, and engage people with yourself and the camera between you. By the end of this thing, Liss needs to talk to someone, and have them talk to him, with the camera running between, there should be a 7 person minimum. If this never happens, then Liss got off easy. - bottomunion
